Obituary

Isolda Scott, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and respected member of her community, peacefully passed away on April 22nd, 2024 at the age of 82. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and individuality that will forever be cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born in Westmoreland, Jamaica in 1941, Isolda is the second of nine children born to James and Inez Lindsay (who are now deceased). She was the epitome of courage and resilience. Throughout her life, she exemplified unwavering loyalty to her family and a commitment to spreading kindness to those around her.

Isolda was the loving mother of three children, Nadine, O’Neil, and Shackerah. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing them, instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. Isolda cherished her children deeply, finding in them her greatest pride and joy.

Beyond her role as a mother, Isolda was a cherished friend and confidante to many. Her door was always open, and her warm smile and listening ear brought comfort to all who sought her counsel. Her boundless generosity extended far and wide, bringing comfort and warmth to the lives of many with her acts of kindness.

In her leisure time, Isolda found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for gardening, spending countless hours tending to her flowers and cultivating beauty from the earth. She also had a love for cooking, and her delicious meals united family and friends in celebration of love and togetherness. She was a skilled seamstress, dedicating herself to crafting and tailoring dresses for the women in rural Jamaica with care and precision.

Isolda’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Nadine, O’Neil, and Shackerah, her 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched with her love and care.
